Jeanneret Pierre (Andre)

1896 — 1967

French architect and designer. He was born in 1896 in Geneva, where he attended the School of Fine Arts. He had an internship as an architect at Auguste Perret architectural practice in Paris (1920–1921). Fr om 1921 he began working with his cousin Le Corbusier. From this point on, Pierre Jeanneret was his permanent collaborator and companion, and the projects created by them (up to 1940) are signed by Édouard Jeanneret / Pierre Jeanneret.

The last 15 years of his life, Pierre Jeanneret spent in India, wh ere he worked with Le Corbusier on the plan and architecture for the city of Chandigarh. There, together with Indian artisans, he created his iconic pieces of furniture.
